Tips for Computer Eye Strain Relief

If you have a computer job, or if you use the computer often, chances are you will have computer eye strain. Some common symptoms of computer eye strain include: Blurred vision, shoulder, back, or neck soreness,
sensitivity to light, or dry, itching, watery eyes.

Some tips to help avoid computer eye strain include: adjusting the lighting in the room, adjust your computers settings for contrast and brightness, get rid of the glare on your computer screen, blink your eyes often, take breaks often, splash some water on your eyes, give yourself a facial massage, do eye exercises for relaxation, and also see an eye doctor if you need glasses.

Tips for Computer Eye Strain ReliefIt is very important to blink your eyes when you are on a computer. If you do this it will help keep your eyes from itching or becoming dry. When on a computer, it is vitally important that you take breaks often. If that is not possible, then try to at least stand up and stretch for a few minutes every hour. This will give you a chance to stop staring at your computer screen and help you avoid stiff muscles and eye strain. You may also want to try doing some office exercises such as chair dips, standing pushups, lunges, and squats. Some other good exercise tips include: parking your car further away from the office, go for walking breaks if possible, take the stairs whenever possible and try to stretch your body often.

Whenever it is possible try to do some eye exercises to help relax your eyes. Some eye exercises include: rolling your neck with your eyes closed, rubbing the palms of your hands together and place them over your eyes and take deep breaths while thinking of something else other that work. This can help reduce the risk of shoulder and neck pain.

To help relieve burning eyes, take a quick bathroom break and splash some cold water over your eye. Try to let the water air dry to get the best relief. One great way to reduce eye strain is to give yourself a facial massage. This can be done by wetting a paper towel with warm water and rub it over your neck, face, and forehead. You do not have to directly rub your eyes in order for this to give you relief. This will help stimulate the nerves that are around your eyes.

Glasses or contacts can also help relieve computer eye strain, so remember to have your eyes check at least once a year by an eye doctor.
